2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address
  • Account information: username/password if you create an account, order history, saved addresses
  • Order and payment information: items purchased, order value, and payment method selected. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or UPI PIN — payments are processed directly by our payment gateway partner(s), who are independently responsible for securing that data under their own compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS)

  • Reviews and feedback: anything you submit as a product review or testimonial

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
  • Usage data: pages viewed, products viewed, time spent on site, referring website, links clicked
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 4 below
  • Location data: approximate location inferred from your IP address (used only to estimate shipping and currency; we do not track precise GPS location unless you separately grant that permission)

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Payment confirmation and fraud-check signals from our payment gateway
  • Delivery status updates from our courier/logistics partners
  • Aggregated analytics and advertising-performance data from platforms such as Google and Meta (see Section 5)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  1. Process and fulfil your orders, including payment processing, shipping, and customer support
  2. Communicate with you about your order (confirmations, shipping updates, delivery issues, return/exchange requests)
  3. Respond to enquiries and provide customer service, including at our physical stores
  4. Improve our website, products, and shopping experience
  5. Send you marketing communications, offers, and updates — only where you have opted in, and always with an easy way to opt out (see Section 8)
  6. Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  7. Comply with our legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and consumer-protection recordkeeping requirements under Indian law

We do not use your personal information for any purpose incompatible with the ones listed above without asking for your consent first.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website, hosted on Shopify, uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember items in your cart
  • Understand how visitors use our site (via analytics tools such as Google Analytics)
  • Measure the performance of our advertising (via tools such as Google Ads and Meta Pixel)
  • Remember your preferences (e.g., currency, recently viewed items)

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use certain features, such as the shopping cart or checkout.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the business, including:
    • Shopify (our e-commerce platform provider)
    • Payment gateway providers, to process transactions securely
    • Courier and logistics partners, to deliver your order
    • Email/SMS/WhatsApp communication providers, to send order updates and (where opted in) marketing messages
    • Analytics and advertising platforms (Google, Meta), on an aggregated or pseudonymised basis where possible
  • Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights, or to prevent fraud or harm
  • A successor business, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — you will be notified if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy as a result

Each of these third parties is only given the information necessary to perform their function and is expected to protect it in line with applicable law.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (for example, cloud hosting, analytics, or advertising platforms) may process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with the DPDP Act, 2023 and applicable cross-border transfer rules.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:

  • Fulfil the purpose it was collected for (e.g., completing and supporting an order)
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations (typically several years under Indian law)
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it.

8. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and subject to its rules as they come into effect, you (as a "Data Principal") have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Request erasure of your personal data, where it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, subject to our legal retention obligations
  • Withdraw consent at any time for processing that is based on consent (e.g., marketing communications), without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us first (see Section 10), and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India

To exercise any of these rights, email us at wecare@arzoindia.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable legal timelines.

Marketing opt-out: every marketing email or SMS/WhatsApp message we send includes an unsubscribe/opt-out option. You can also email us directly to opt out.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and products are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older, or for purchases made by a parent/guardian on behalf of a minor. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without verifiable parental or guardian consent, in line with the DPDP Act, 2023. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at wecare@arzoindia.com and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the DPDP Act, 2023, the details of our Grievance Officer are:

  • Name: Arzo India

  • Designation: Customer Support Manager

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Where changes are significant, we will provide additional notice (e.g., a banner on our website or an email) before they take effect.
